Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant says he’d gladly to sign a permanent contract within the club in January.

The 27-year-old joined the Potters for the six-month loan deal from Spanish club Real Zaragoza in August and contains since made nine appearances.

“If the 2 main teams can agree something I will be greater than content with put pen to paper,” Pennant said.

Boss Tony Pulis has expressed his desire for keeping the first sort Liverpool man along at the club.

European Club Association chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had some harsh words for FIFA ahead of today’s Euro qualifying games.

“It is no longer acceptable that we have to give up our players, taking the risk that, in case of injury, we still have to play their salaries,” Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, president of the European Clubs’ Association (ECA), told reporters. “We believe it is the right moment for (world ruling body) FIFA and (Europe’s) UEFA to take care of our players.”
