In week 20 of La Liga, Sevilla cut the distance from the top of the standings in the Spanish League, winning this past Sunday in the Estadio Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán against Valencia 2-1. The victory brought Sevilla 36 points and a position in fourth place; despite the loss, Valencia ended with 39 points and in third place. Seilla now has a spot in the UEFA Champion’s League, and is only inches away from the top three spots in the standings.

This past Sunday, Real Madrid beat Valencia 2-0 and cut two points of its three-point gap with Barcelona, renewing the fight for the League title in Spain. Barcelona drew with Espanyol 0-0 on Saturday, giving the Merengues the motivation to play at their best against Valencia. The Argentine striker, Gonzalo Higuain scored his twenty-fifth goal and Cristiano Ronaldo scored his twentieth of the league. Real Madrid will add a total of 83 points, one away from Barcelona.
