The viral itself is quite nice, almost as though Guus Hiddink is a child dreaming of the life he’ll lead, rather than remembering things in the past.

Quite nice, save for one large bit of confusion: What the hell’s it all about? At first it seemed like it may be an international hotel chain, then dental hygiene, and finally something involving air travel, waiting for Bill Shatner to pop up. But a quick Google search says Together For Great Goals is, or was, the slogan for Betherlands 2018.

“We can imitate the kiss between Sara and Iker,” she asked. The Villarreal player was surprised, “Who?”. “With me,” she said. “No, no no .. you’re not my type,” retorted and walked away.

Well there – beauty queens are not… Continue reading

Rather odd story in France today, with Zahia Dehar – the call-girl (is that the right term?) in the middle of the Franck Ribery, Sidney Govou, Hatem Ben Arfa, Karim Benzema under-age sex scandal – apparently standing up for said players by writing a letter to Raymond Domenech last week, in which she encouraged the France coach to presume the players innocent until proven guilty and also to not let the scandal affect his World Cup 2010 squad selection.

Assuming this is all true (I’m not 100% sure, but seems the French media are taking it seriously) it was weekly… Continue reading
