Today, LA Mayor Villaraigosa presented Ted Turner, Founder and Chairman of the United Nations Foundation, and the UN Foundations Nothing But Netsa global, grassroots campaign to end malaria in Africawith a certificate of recognition for the campaigns work to promote sending bed nets to save lives from malaria. The presentation was followed by a malaria-education workshop for local students at Gompers Middle School to encourage them to act locally to make a global impact.

Up until a couple of years ago I would spend my two weeks holiday lying on a beach somewhere. I always told everyone that I had had a fantastic holiday but if I’m honest they weren’t that great.
